But beyond that, I try to find interesting places. Like local museums, unusual stores, local points of interests, etc.
Here are highlights of Trout Lake:
The Abbey bed and breakfast is spectacular. I never would have thought to stop here. The grounds and buildings are first class! Fun fact: the commode in the hostel area has a heated seat...and is a bidet.

Nice spot for morning coffee!

Everybody take your shoes off! There is a resident monk here, they also have Druid activities.

This is an incredible weeping willow tree that forms a quiet spot. The gardens are amazing...trust me...the watering system super complex. At least to my eye. They also have chickens, llamas, orchards, and the ever present Mt Adams in the background. Of course everything is organic!

Long hallway with small plants. I enjoyed walking through here.

Lots of places to meditate, mini shrines, and not sure what this is

How about this face?

Lots of these

This rock labyrinth was very cool

The monk and I!

My cost at the Abbey was $40/night, and that included a full breakfast.
The town of Trout Lake had a fair today. Big parade. They had a climbing tower, zip line, lots of kid activities, and of course food. Very well attended and people were having fun
Fire truck squirting water on the parade route. Of course kids were rewarded with candy from the parade.

Fair area. Local jazz band playing in the background.

The people here have been great, I can get rides just by asking.
So, that was Trout Lake. I got here a day early and head back to the trail Monday morning.
Douglass, Enjoying the commentary thus far and the extra pics. Beautiful country. Beware the fair drifters...LOL 😁
