I'm mentally trying to hit 15 miles per day for this first
week, so it was a good day. Climbed 3,000' out of Cascade Locks... Ugh! I'm not in shape and felt it today.
Weather was perfect. I plan to cowboy camp tonight, I have a perfect view of the sky, and the moon is new (or close to it), so stargazing tonight!
From my camp I can see Mt Adams, Mt Rainer, and Mt St Helens! And Mt Hood is visible behind me
Saw several other hikers, one crashed at my spot just at dark. Turns out the stars were beautiful, saw over a dozen shooting stars. BUT, about 3am I was woken by a light rain, moved into my tent everything is a little wet but not soaked.
Crossed over the Bridge of the Gods into Washington this morning

Excited but with some trepidation. How far is it to Canada??

Berries growing along the trail...there were blueberries too. Lots of wildflowers.
