Day 17

Ended the day at 1353.9 for19.2 miles.

Started out around 8:30, saw 3 SOBO hikers at the trailhead, and a couple of more later on. News of the fire trail closures was not good. It's almost a certainty it will interrupt my hike at some point.

Passed by some geothermal activity. A "geyser" (that was really just steam coming up), and "boiling spring lake". Very cool. There is a resort around here with hot spring baths.

Ended at a campground that has picnic tables, bear boxes, water, and restrooms. Only one other couple is here with me. Amazing how helpful these few amenities are. 2 packs of Raman noodles for dinner. Cold tonight.

Another awesome day on the PCT!

  1. Wow how cool is that, a geyser! Not something that you can see in Brookside!
