Finally got to the trail around 11am, what a great feeling! Lasted all of 30 minutes until I took a wrong turn and went a half mile out of my way lol.
Started at mile 1092 9 and ended at 1103.9 for an even 11 miles. This was my plan for day 1. I feel tired, but nothing hurts (yet).
The PCT runs with the Tahoe Rim Trail for 50 or so miles. I saw a lot (like 100+) day hikers today, esp around beautiful Echo Lake. Also saw a grouse of some sort that stood 2' from me.
There are a few folks camped within a 1/2 mile of me, but I do have a private spot. Cowboy camping tonight next to a lake. Zero hungry. Really feels terrific to get the first day in!
No cell reception here, and that may be a recurring issue. Below are some pics that summarize my day
