4:07pm. That's when I finally got dry and warm!
It rained throughout the night and continued into the day. The rain alternated between steady and heavy. I was soaked, nothing can keep you dry in an all day rain like this. Plus, it was cold. Other hikers told me it snowed at elevation last night. The trail was 2-4" deep with water, after a while you don't notice. Plus the trail has lots of blowdowns, overgrown trail, river crossings, and a 3,000' climb both today and tomorrow.
It's hard breaking down camp and setting up camp in the rain. With wet pants, shirt, socks, and coat. Just...harder! But once I'm in, it's all good. Warm sleeping bag and dry clothes. 4:07 today, I just couldn't take the cold and wet anymore. My sleeping bag makes me happy-until I have to get up tomorrow and put all those wet clothes back on again.
This has been one of the toughest days I have ever spent on the trail. Couldn't take a pic of my camp, immediately got the in sleeping bag, not getting out.

Here's another pic of that whistling rodent

Hanging my wet shirt up in the tent. Odds of drying? Zero
